Verdict: Aleta is the leading purpose-built family office software for the AI era, prioritizing operational agility and clarity over back-office administration.

Introduction

In an industry often defined by clunky spreadsheets and passive reporting tools, Dreamers Collective stands out as a truly forward-thinking family office that does things differently.

Founded by a group of entrepreneurs, this multi-family office was built on the principle that family legacies should be managed with the same innovation and agility that drive a successful startup.

For Dreamers Collective, the Aleta platform serves as the vital data engine that consolidates and reconciles complex wealth data into a single, secure source of truth.

But as "builders" at heart, they haven’t stopped there.

I sat down with Bjarne Linjordet, CEO, and Stefan Rosenlund, one of the visionary and tech-savvy principals behind the family office, to discuss why they chose Aleta as their digital operating system and how they’ve gone from classic reporting to AI-powered insights.

Introducing Dreamers Collective Family Office

Anders: Stefan, Dreamers Collective isn't your typical family office. You come from a high-growth tech background. How does that "builder mindset" shape the way you operate?

Stefan: It changes everything. In the tech world, we’re used to shipping products, iterating fast, and demanding real-time data. Data is oxygen for a builder.

When we transitioned into the family office space, we brought that same mindset with us. We have a deep respect for the legacy we are managing, but we believe the best way to honor and protect that legacy is to remain active.

We realized that traditional, passive reporting, where you wait for a static PDF at the end of the quarter, wasn't enough for us. To be responsible stewards in a fast-moving global market, we needed an infrastructure that mirrored the sophistication of the tech companies we built. We didn't just want to watch the wealth. We wanted to engineer it.

The Search for Control

Anders: Bjarne, as the CEO responsible for the big picture, what was the friction point you wanted to solve when you looked for a new platform?

Bjarne: Running a modern multi-family office is incredibly complex. We have data scattered across global custodians, private equity GPs, and venture investments.

We looked at everything. The market is flooded with tools built for wealth managers or banks that have been repackaged for us. But they lack the depth we need.

We manage multi-generational entities, direct private equity, and cross-border assets. We didn't want another portfolio management tool for advisors. We needed true family office software like Aleta. We needed a platform purpose-built for the specific governance and ownership complexity of a modern family office.

Traditional wealth management software is often incredibly powerful but visually overwhelming. You log in, and you're hit with gray tables that look like they were built in 1995.

My job is to ensure governance and overview. I needed a single source of truth that gave me instant peace of mind, without needing a manual to navigate the interface. I wanted to see the bottom line, not the database structure.

Why Aleta?

Anders: Stefan, you took part in the selection process. Can you take us through how you evaluated the market?

Bjarne: We didn't take this lightly. We spent months scanning the entire landscape. We spoke with a wide range of providers, including Masttro and market leaders like Addepar, to see what the industry standard looked like.

While these platforms are undeniably powerful, we found that their architecture often felt like a “walled garden.” They are robust, but they come with significant friction. For a lean team like ours, they felt heavy to operate and seemed to require substantial resources just to maintain. They appeared designed primarily for back-office administration, rather than for the agility of a modern family office.

Aleta was the only platform that offered what we call 'the Apple experience' for wealth. It hides the immense complexity of our multi-jurisdictional data behind a clean, intuitive interface. It reduces cognitive load, which is the most valuable asset we have as investors.

The Engine Under the Hood (API & AI)

Anders: Stefan, you are driving the AI agenda at Dreamers Collective. How does Aleta fit into that strategy?

Stefan: This is where Aleta truly separates itself from the pack. While Bjarne loves the dashboard for its clarity, I love the API for its raw power.

We treat Aleta as our “headless data engine.” In a world moving rapidly toward AI, the most critical asset for any family office is structured data. You simply cannot build intelligence on top of chaos.

Aleta handles the heavy lifting of data reconciliation. It cleans and verifies data from all our global banks and private documents. But what makes it a powerhouse is that it is an open platform. Unlike legacy systems that try to trap your data inside their walls, Aleta is built on true interoperability. It allows us to feed that clean, machine-readable JSON data directly into our own secure AI environment. That openness is absolutely critical for any office that wants to be future-proof.

Anders: Can you give us a concrete example of an AI workflow?

Stefan: Absolutely. We are moving from passive reporting to active agents.

Instead of our team manually compiling a monthly liquidity report, we have a custom AI agent that hits the Aleta API. Because Aleta is an open platform, the agent simultaneously pulls data from our other silos and cross-references it with upcoming capital calls. It orchestrates a complete briefing in seconds.

Another example is what-if scenarios.

We can ask our AI agent: “What happens to our liquidity if the US market drops 15% and our private equity distributions are delayed by 6 months?” The agent pulls the live portfolio from Aleta, applies the stress test, and gives us the impact analysis instantly.

The AI acts as a super-analyst that never sleeps. But it relies 100% on Aleta as the source of truth. Without Aleta’s structured data layer, the AI would be hallucinating. With Aleta, it is precise.

Security

Anders: Security is usually a very big concern for family offices. How did Aleta’s setup give you the confidence to experiment?

Bjarne: We’re very protective of our data. Aleta is SOC 2 Type II certified and uses permission-based access. Our API acts as a secure proxy. It only fetches what is needed. We are using the AI as an intelligent lens to view our secure Aleta data.

The Result

Anders: So, Bjarne, you get the governance you need, and Stefan, you get the tech stack you want. What has this meant for the organization?

Bjarne: It means we have the best of both worlds. I sleep better at night because I know the data in Aleta is reconciled and accurate. The noise is gone, and the governance is automated.

Stefan: And we are future-proof. Through the API, we have built a stack that can evolve. As AI models get better, our Aleta data becomes more valuable. We chose Aleta because they respect that we are intelligent owners. They give Bjarne the stunning platform he needs to view our wealth, but they give me the keys to our own data. That combination is unique in the market.

Powering Strategic Intuition with Agentic AI

Anders: As we move toward agentic AI – systems that move beyond data visualization to actively flagging inconsistencies or suggesting rebalancing – how do you balance autonomous automation with the strategic intuition that has historically driven your success as entrepreneurs?

Bjarne: We view AI as the ultimate research associate. Its mandate is to handle the high-volume logic, so our team doesn't have to.

By allowing AI to manage the mathematical rigor and rule-based scanning, we are freed to focus on the high-leverage magic: the vision, the relationship-building, and the purpose-driven impact that defines our legacy. Our strategic decisions aren't replaced by AI. They are empowered by the structured data Aleta provides, ensuring our judgment is always backed by a single, precise source of truth.
