Aleta news
When I first met Niels Fibæk-Jensen, the CEO and Co-founder of Matter, more than five years ago, I knew immediately they were building something exceptional.
Niels told me they were on a mission to collect high-quality sustainability data and make it more accessible to investors and at the same time supplementing it with other kinds of insights such as NGO-derived flags for controversial and beneficial activities.
Now, five years later, Matter has developed a powerful analytics platform that delivers granular sustainability data, enabling users to get unmatched insights into the sustainability of their investments.
Their data covers key areas such as climate transition, ESG, nature impact and dependencies, SDG alignment, as well as SFDR and TCFD compliance.
Back when I first met Matter, I had already engaged in many conversations with forward-thinking family offices and wealth managers about impact and how to integrate sustainability in their investment universe. It became apparent to me that Matter’s data would be the perfect complement to the financial insights we were already collecting for the Aleta platform.
And that was the beginning of a long-term strategic partnership that would prove to be very valuable to the both of us.
This month, we can celebrate the 5-year anniversary of our collaboration with Matter.
At Aleta we are committed to inspiring wealth management professionals and wealth owners to look beyond profit and traditional financial metrics. We want to encourage a world where financial success is not only measured by profit, but also by the impact made on the environment, society, and future generations.
Having Matter as a trusted partner has been a game-changer for this mission.
They’ve provided our wealth management platform with superior sustainability insights that have played an important role in setting Aleta apart as a next-generation wealth platform with sustainability data at the heart of its financial framework.
Reflecting on the partnership, Matter’s CEO and Co-founder, Niels Fibæk-Jensen, notes:
Our partnership with Aleta over the past five years has been a testament to the growing demand for sustainability-driven investment solutions. Together, we’ve helped investors align their wealth with their values, and we’re excited to continue empowering them to make informed, impactful decisions for a sustainable future.
Our partnership is only becoming more relevant today as the world of wealth management is undergoing a profound transformation. The new generation of investors is looking for more than just financial returns – they want their wealth to reflect their values.
As the Great Wealth Transfer accelerates, with 30% of global wealth passing to the next generation within the next decade, a shift in wealth management is emerging. Younger investors aren't just focused on profit – they want their wealth to create a positive impact on the world.
For many of these nextgens, wealth is tied to identity. They seek to build a legacy rooted in values like sustainability and social responsibility. They want their investments to reflect their personal beliefs.
According to a recent global wealth report by Capgemini, 55% of all HNWIs consider ESG an important investment objective. However, among HNWIs under 40, that figure jumps to 71%, compared to just 49% for those over 40.
The generational divide is even more pronounced in North America, where 76% of HNWIs under 40 prioritize ESG investing, compared to only 46% of their older counterparts. This difference underscores a fundamental shift in investment priorities.
Despite this enthusiasm, incorporating ESG into wealth management isn’t without challenges.
While nextgen investors demand detailed sustainability data, about 40% of wealth managers admit they struggle to provide accurate and comprehensive insights.
That’s why our partnership with Matter is crucial.
At Aleta, we believe that the synergy between profit and impact will only become stronger from now on, and we are committed to fostering a comprehensive wealth perspective.
Our family office clients are some of the most forward-thinking family offices and sustainability is high on their agenda. They are not just looking to build wealth, but to leave a legacy that aligns with their values.
And our wealth management clients know that sustainability insights are a baseline expectation from nextgen investors.
Thanks to our long-standing partnership with Matter, we’ve been able to offer these clients sustainability insights they couldn’t access elsewhere. While traditional metrics for profit and returns are readily available, our collaboration with Matter has allowed us to provide deeper, more meaningful insights into the impact of investments.
Five years into this partnership, we remain committed to the long term. We continue to explore new ways to expand the value of this relationship, ensuring that our clients have access to the best possible insights.
We look forward to the next five years of innovation and growth together.
